Transferring GitHub Repositories to Your Organization: A Step-by-Step Guide

Streamlining the Process for Seamless Repository Transfers and Collaborative Development

Are you looking to transfer your GitHub repository to your organization's account? Follow these simple instructions to get started:

  1. Create a Paid Organization Account: First, ensure that you have a paid organization account on GitHub.

  2. Add "crowdbotics-apps" Account: Add the "crowdbotics-apps" account to your organization with permission to create new repositories. This step is crucial for initiating the transfer process.

  3. Initiate Transfer: Once the "crowdbotics-apps" account is added to your organization, reach out to us at support@crowdbotics.com with the name of your organization to request the transfer of the repository. We will handle the transfer process promptly.

  4. Finalize Transfer: After the transfer is completed, you can remove the "crowdbotics-apps" account from your organization. If you wish to continue deploying from the Crowdbotics dashboard, install the Crowdbotics GitHub App on your organization and grant it access to the transferred repository(s).

Please note: GitHub may require you to purchase a seat before inviting the "crowdbotics-apps" account to your organization. Additionally, if you intend to add team members from the Crowdbotics dashboard to the GitHub repository as collaborators, each member will need a purchased seat. If you prefer to handle this differently, kindly inform us, and we will adjust accordingly.

For deeper insights and detailed instructions, feel free to explore GitHub's official documentation.

By adhering to these steps and furnishing your organization name, you can smoothly transfer the GitHub repository to your organization.
